H.O.P.E. - Hold On, Pain Ends
addressing collective female trauma
We have created a world where the majority of women are bringing children into the world from a heart & mental space of fear.
Today’s letter is going to be rather heavy.
I will share with you what I have seen and am seeing regarding collective trauma imposed upon women, the pillar of life.
I will also share a relevant message from the medicine that came through during a 6g psilocybin experience.
NOTE* If sexual assault is triggering for you, then this may not be for, and you might want to go ahead and skip this one.
If you do continue, and this brings something up for you. And you need help. You can reply to this email (it goes directly to my personal email) and I will get access to our next online SomatIQ session.
I love you. 🙏
“To feel the problems of our world is to know its suffering, but this requires compassionate “response-ability.” If we fail to address the world’s collective trauma with clarity and compassion, we imperil the survival of our children and our children’s children—and countless other species.”
Sexual assault is not explicit to women.
But the world has inflicted a significant burden upon women through sexual aggression and violence, also known as Collective Female Trauma.
It is our responsibility to recognize this and work diligently towards a better future.
And by understanding the deep connections between violence, mental health, and the role of women in shaping our collective destiny, we can inspire change and foster an environment where women are empowered, supported, and nurtured - for the sake of all humankind.
Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted
Here are the statistics
1 in 3 women experience physical/sexual violence globally (WHO).
1 in 5 women in the U.S. have been raped (CDC).
81% of women face sexual harassment (Stop Street Harassment, 2018).
90% of adult rape victims are female (RAINN).
1 in 4 undergraduate women faces sexual assault/misconduct (AAU, 2019).
63% of sexual assaults go unreported (RAINN).
Women aged 18-24 are at higher risk of sexual violence (RAINN).
94% of raped women experience PTSD symptoms (National Center for PTSD).
33% of raped women contemplate suicide, and 13% attempt it (National Center for PTSD).
70% of sexual assault victims face moderate-severe distress (U.S. DOJ).
Often, when we think about who commits sexual assault or rape, we imagine the aggressor is a stranger to the victim.
Contrary to popular belief, sexual assault does not typically occur between strangers.
The National Crime Victimization Survey, conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, found that about four of every five sexually assaulted women were attacked by a current or former husband, cohabitating partner, friend, or date.
Strangers committed only about one of every five of the assaults that were reported in this survey.
Sexual Assualt Aftermath
7 most common reactions post sexual assault:
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Shame and guilt
Alcohol and drug use
After a sexual assault, women can experience a wide range of reactions.
Note that there is no single pattern of response.
Some women respond immediately; others may have delayed reactions.
Some women are affected by the assault for a long time, but others appear to recover more quickly.
In the time just after a sexual assault, many women report feeling shocked, confused, anxious, and/or numb.
Sometimes women will experience feelings of denial.
In other words, they may not fully accept what has happened to them or downplay the intensity of the experience.
This reaction may be more common among women who are assaulted by someone they know.
What I have noticed
Our company (SomatIQ) hosts four-day in-person intensives, and we’re hosting one as you’re reading this now.
These trainings are around 80% women.
In this week’s training, there are 64 people participating.
14 men and 50 women.
Thursday, April 20th, was the first day.
At the end of the day, we hosted a live SomatIQ Breathwork session.
We begin by having everyone lie down and get settled.
Before these sessions begin, I scan the room for patterns.
The most common pattern…holding of the womb.
34 of 50 (68%) of the women had two hands placed over their wombs.
In every session, without exception, the presence of sexual trauma is evident.
Women (and men) will be seen wiping their bodies (this is somatic memory.
Their body is “completing the question/action”).
As if to be wiping someone away or pushing somebody off of them.
They yell things like “No! Go Away, Get Off, Stop”.
An overwhelming feeling of grief consumes me every time.
Feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion.
Looking over the crowd, I can’t help but question…
“What have we done”…what have we done to our vehicles of life, and how did we get here?
Well…there are many ways that women can be involved in sexual activity against their will.
The force used by the aggressor can be either physical or non-physical.
Forced or pressured into having sex.
Taken advantage of by someone who has some form of authority over them (for example, doctor, teacher, boss)
Bribed or manipulated into sexual activity against their will
Unable to give consent because she’s under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Threatened to be hurt or that people that she cares about will be hurt
Physically forced or violently assaulted
Next, I will share a message from the medicine I received last year regarding this Collective Female Trauma.
A message from the medicine
September 2022, I partook in a 1:1 session with psilocybin (magic mushrooms).
Approximately 6 grams of golden teachers (a strain of mushroom), powdered, extracted with lemon juice, steeped in hot water, and prepared with cacao and honey.
Although not well documented, the Aztecs call this preparation “The Nectar of the Gods.”
They referred to psychedelic mushrooms as "teonanácatl" (meaning "flesh of the Gods" in Nahuatl); these mushrooms were an integral part of Aztec religious and spiritual practices.
The Aztecs believed that consuming these mushrooms allowed them to communicate with the Gods and the Spirit world.
My best friend scribed the entire session.
I am forever grateful for this man, a true curandero.
His purpose was not to interfere with the experience but to write down all that came through so that I could be liberated from the worry of having to “remember.”
There were three main topics.
Protect the mother at all costs.
Love all, especially those that are afraid.
Don’t worry about a legacy; you will be forgotten. What matters is that you contribute. You are of this earth, and you will return to us.
I will share the full experience on April 30th in Phoenix, AZ, at the Science of Psychedelics and Spiritual Medicine.
However, for this letter, I will be expanding on #1 only as it relates to the topic of discussion.
More messages regarding the mother (verbatim):
Wet feels good because it reminds us of the womb. Water is your first familiar memory. This is why your people are called to the water.
The mother’s womb is where it begins for your people. This is a universal principle for all, that is.
It all begins with the mother. What is the state of her heart and mind? This is how she will bring a child into your world.
You will never understand the bond between a mother and child, even as a child of a mother. She is the use in which we speak to you.
Protect the mother at all costs. It is simple, not easy.
These were what I would consider the “integral insights” extracted from the channel of conversation coming through.
As the medicine is in full effect, a channel is opened, and the words, what the Aztecs referred to as Gods or Spirit World, are spuing through.
While I subscribe to this belief of accessing consciousness on an unseen plane, I have another word for it adopted from John Vervaeke (@vervaeke_john).
A professor of psychology at the University of Toronto.
He currently teaches courses on thinking and reasoning, emphasizing cognitive development, intelligence, rationality, mindfulness, and the psychology of wisdom.
But he refers to this access as “psycho-technology”.
Dialogue with the Medicine
Before I continue, you must understand.
This is my attempt at explaining an ineffable experience.
You simply cannot put God in a bottle.
What or who was coming through me was always plural “They, We, Us” and never singular.
There was a moment I was on my knees, eyeshades on, John Hopkins Psylocbin playlist playing, and the channel opened (mind you, this has never happened to me before in any prior experience).
They begin by saying…
“Open your eyes; we can speak to you with your eyes open, boy. You are designed to see this.”
I ripped my eye shades, and there I saw a statue of Mother Mary (an actual statue I have in which I lit a candle at her feet before I began).
Immediately, I was soaked figuratively) not literally.
Them: To be wet reminds you of the womb. Water is your first familiar memory. You are of the mothers womb. This is why your people are called to the water.
Them: The mother’s womb is where it begins for your people. This is a universal principle for all, that is.
Me: People are scared. The mother is scared.
Them: It all begins with the mother. Pay attention to the condition of her heart and protect her mind. This is how she will bring child into your world.
Them: You will never understand the bond between a mother and child, even as a child of a mother. She is the muse in which we choose to speak to you.
Them: Protect the mother at all costs. It is simple, not easy. This is your contribution to us. Do not worry about a legacy. You will be forgotten. What matters is that you contribute. To be born.
The importance of this message is overwhelming.
Men, we have one responsibility.
“To pay attention to the condition of her heart and protect the mind at all cost.”
To my mother, four sisters, and the countless women I meet through SomatIQ.
I am incredibly blessed and humbled to be in the presence of so many powerful women.
You are all a beautiful representation of God.
We would not be here without you…literally.
We owe you everything.
Big Love, Nadeem
Early this week, I shared a thought tunnel I went down regarding soul mates. You can check it out below.
