I remember running into a some great info about active listening a few years back, and it was similar to what you shared about listening to understand and not to respond.
At the time I was super guilty of doing just that, but I wasn’t aware that that’s what I’d been doing; and the shift of truly just listening as opposed to trying to figure out what my response would be, was a game changer when it came to deepening relationships.
